
The City of Sacramento is providing $1.7 million through the North Sacramento Business Investment Program to support businesses and property owners in District 2. The funds are intended to help companies grow and to renovate vacant commercial buildings, according to the City of Sacramento.
The City’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development is running a program to support small businesses and prepare vacant spaces for new tenants in North Sacramento. Fourteen businesses were selected to receive grants and loans, and the full list is available on the city’s website. Councilmember Roger Dickinson said, “These awards are another critical step toward creating lasting economic opportunity in our community,” as reported by the City of Sacramento.
North Sacramento is receiving part of a $5 million allocation from the federal American Rescue Plan Act. This includes about $1 million in grants to improve storefronts and $2.3 million in grants and loans for local organizations and businesses. The City of Sacramento also previously provided $600,000 for the Marysville-Del Paso Boulevard area through the Forward Together Pilot Grant Program.
