After extensive renovations due to weather damage, Dearborn Hills Golf Course is back in full swing with all 18 holes playable for the first time since 2021, according to the Dearborn government. Accompanying the course's return, the city welcomes Birdies Restaurant, a fresh addition to the Dearborn culinary landscape nestled within the course's new clubhouse.
"It’s incredibly exciting to welcome golfers back to the full course," Jordan Al, Dearborn Hills Manager, stated, according to the City of Dearborn news release. The historic Michigan golf course, which has been in operation for 102 years, faced closure due to severe flooding and consequent logjams along the nearby Rouge River. Now, after a closure that spanned over multiple seasons, the grounds are restored, and the venue aims to attract both seasoned aficionados and new enthusiasts.
The city's restoration efforts included a comprehensive overhaul of the drainage systems, ensuring riverbank stability, and enhancing infrastructure, according to the Dearborn government. The partial reopening in 2023 marked the centennial of the golf course, and the continuation of the work has finally allowed for the entire course to be available to the public once again.
Diners can experience the offerings of Birdies Restaurant, which boasts an elevated selection of clubhouse fare, from Tuesday to Sunday, 4 to 10 p.m. With the soft opening already having taken place in February, residents and visitors of Dearborn can make reservations via Resy.com.
