A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Metrolink train in North Hollywood earlier today, sending emergency crews to the scene just before the midday sun reached its zenith. According to KTLA, at approximately 11:12 a.m., the collision occurred in the 7000 block of Tujunga Avenue. The Los Angeles Fire Department's spokesperson, Margaret Stewart, described the situation as dire, stating that the individual was "struck by a Metrolink train is sadly beyond medical help and determined deceased on scene."
The identity of the person who died in the accident has yet to be publicly shared. On board the train at the time were 33 passengers who, despite having to unexpectedly stop, did not sustain any injuries.
