A devastating house fire in Fontana left eight people without a home and resulted in the death of three pets on Sunday evening, according to reports from KTLA and the San Bernardino County Fire Department's social media post. The blaze, which was promptly addressed by firefighters, commenced shortly after 6 p.m. at a single-story residence on Pine Avenue.
Upon their arrival, fire crews found the fire to be quickly spreading to the back of the home and a detached garage-dwelling unit, threatening to even spread to the adjacent house. In an attempt to quickly contain the situation, "crews carried hose lines both into the home and around the side to stop the fire from torching the neighboring structure," as reported in the San Bernardino County Fire X post.

All residents managed to evacuate the house safely; however, the flames claimed the lives of two dogs and a cat, unable to escape the fire. The Red Cross was called in to support the displaced individuals, which included "two adult males, five adult females and one male child," according to a statement by the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
23 personnel responded to the first alarm call, consisting of four engine companies, two paramedic squads, one ladder truck company, a battalion chief, an investigator, and an information officer. These efforts allowed the team to effectively manage to keep the fire from inflicting damage on nearby properties. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal, as reported by both KTLA and the Fire Department's post.
