The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office announced that 47-year-old Jeffrey Zizz, previously a person of interest in the death of Tenino woman Marcia Norman, is now facing charges of first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, and unlawful disposal of human remains. As reported by The News Tribune, Zizz, who worked as Norman's handyman, was booked yesterday following a grim discovery earlier this month.
According to KING 5, Norman's remains were found partially encased in concrete under a shed built by Zizz on an unrelated property in Olympia. The Norman Family, still reeling from the tragedy, shared with law enforcement, "Marcia was the one that brought us together. We are thankful for the efforts of law enforcement," highlighting the depth of their loss.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Norman's death has unveiled Zizz's disturbing past. Detectives discovered that he was discharged from his position as a pastor after a confession of "sexual misconduct" in his home back in October 2021, as revealed by KING 5. His exit from the church followed the revelation of a troubling history, which paints a complex portrait of a man once entrusted with spiritual guidance in the community.
Zizz fled Washington state, which violated a previous sentencing condition on an unrelated sex offense, landing him on law enforcement's radar. He was eventually apprehended at a motel in Missoula, Montana. Following this, the Thurston County Coroner’s Office confirmed on April 10 that the remains discovered were indeed Norman's, as per KOMO News. Zizz is now being held without bail in Thurston County jail, facing the consequences of his recent charges alongside a child molestation sentencing violation.
