Former NFL star Terrell Suggs has entered a plea agreement and received probation following an incident in March 2024 at an Arizona Starbucks drive-thru. The retired linebacker was sentenced to 18 months of supervised probation and other conditions after pleading guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct, as reported by WMAR2 News. The altercation involved Suggs and another driver after a minor vehicle collision that escalated when Suggs reportedly brandished a gun during the dispute.
Alongside the probation, Suggs is required to complete 100 hours of community service and undergo a mental health screening as well as anger management classes. The incident, which took place after a minor vehicular mishap, was captured on the victim's vehicle camera, leading to the charges and subsequent plea deal to avoid prison. According to information from The Big Lead, Suggs also agreed to forfeit the gun involved, as well as any ammunition and accessories.
Terrell Suggs' attorney, Craig Penrod, sought a lesser punishment of a year's probation, emphasizing that his client was responding to the aggression of the other driver and displayed the gun only as deterrence. "The gun was just pointed to the ground. It was a distance away from the victim at the time," Penrod explained. Despite the plea and reduced sentencing, the incident marks another in a series of legal troubles for Suggs, dating back to 2003, as highlighted by The Baltimore Banner. Nonetheless, Suggs' agent, Denise White, indicated her client's relief at moving past this "unfortunate incident."
