If you're sitting on a pile of household hazardous waste and wrestling with how to rid yourself of it without being a blight on Mother Earth, Fort Worth has got a solution for you. The city's Environmental Collection Center (ECC), located at 6400 Bridge Street, is your go-to destination for ensuring that hazardous items, such as automotive fluids, paint, and batteries, do not harm our already beleaguered environment. According to the City of Euless' recent announcement, the ECC is open and ready for your eco-conscious spring cleaning on Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
You will need to show some proof of residence—a current water bill or a valid driver’s license, for instance—to drop off your items at the ECC. City officials urge residents to consolidate trips, noting that the City of Euless is charged $95 per car for this service. It's not only a fiscally smart move, but it also reduces emissions and traffic, further helping to minimize our collective ecological footprint.
Got some chems or paints that are still as good as new? The ECC has a generous proposition for you. They run a help-yourself shelf where these like-new products are offered up free of charge. It's all about keeping the circle of use going strong; if your products can be safely used by someone else, why send them to the incinerator? Call 817-392-1234 or visit FortWorthTexas.gov and search for “Environmental Collection Center” for details on what is accepted and what is not.
