K-Rok Korean BBQ has introduced a new menu to attract the lunchtime crowd in Grand Rapids. Founded by Myong Sun Yoon Holloway and Rob Yoon, the menu offers quick, affordable options that avoid leaving the barbecue aroma on customers’ clothes, according to FOX 17.
K-Rok is adjusting its menu to address challenges faced by local businesses in Grand Rapids, where several bars and restaurants have recently closed. To adapt, K-Rok is lowering prices and offering fusion dishes like Bulgogi Burritos and Spicy Pork Empanadas, blending Korean cuisine with diverse flavors. City official Richard App emphasized the need for accessible dining options during the workday rush, and K-Rok’s handheld foods meet this demand. Rob Yoon noted the importance of staying current with market trends, saying, "We go with the trends to keep people coming in the door," as reported by FOX 17.
K-Rok is offering half-off parking for customers using the Amway ramp to reduce parking costs. The restaurant is also introducing live music during the summer months and continuing its $30 all-you-can-eat BBQ to attract more diners in Grand Rapids, as mentioned by WGVUNews.
The Yoon family has updated their menu to reflect their culinary heritage. Myong Holloway told WZZM13, "Mine all come from my grandma, mom and me, my sisters, they are all doing restaurants." The changes are also intended to attract new customers amid economic challenges.
