
Gunfire broke out following a disturbing incident where a victim was run over by a vehicle near a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Station in Lancaster, authorities said. The violence took place at a barbershop on the 44000 block of Beech Avenue, a mere stone's throw away from the sheriff's station, according to KTLA.
Deputies hurried to the scene after receiving reports of an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon their arrival, they found a man suffering serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Initial reports suggested the man had been shot, however, it was later confirmed that he had been run over by a vehicle. "After the victim was run over, the suspect, who was standing in the area, fired several rounds toward the vehicle," authorities said, shedding light on the sequence of events.
The suspect, who has yet to be named, was apprehended at the scene, and law enforcement was able to recover a firearm related to the incident. The investigation is actively continuing by Operation Safe Streets detectives who responded to the assault.
