Orange County authorities are on the lookout for a woman whose modus operandi involves stealing jewelry from unsuspecting victims with what could be considered a rather intimate distraction: a kiss. The Irvine Police Department has identified the suspect as 45-year-old Sirbu Lacramioara and is actively seeking any information regarding her whereabouts. As reported by KTLA, Lacramioara has been suspected of using her kisses to divert her victims' attention to relieve them of their valuables, like watches and jewelry.
The suspect reportedly took her routine to a personal level when she managed to steal a Rolex watch. According to the Irvine Police Department, during the theft, "she kissed a victim's hand and left behind a perfect sample of her Deoxyribonucleic acid, that cool thing we all call DNA." Information about Lacramioara's alleged crimes and the unconventional evidence she left behind was further shared by the Irvine Police Department in their #FELONYFRIDAY Facebook post. They made a light-hearted reference to her method of operation, remarking on her penchant for going "for the gold and silver in the distraction theft Olympics."
Police assert that similar cases involving Lacramioara have also been reported across the United States. This trend seems to establish her as a serial offender, leveraging her unique strategy to commit thefts on a national scale. This pattern was detailed in a report by FOX LA, which indicates that the police department is urgently calling on the public's assistance to locate Lacramioara.
Officials have appealed for anyone with knowledge of Lacramioara to step forward with information that could lead to her apprehension. The Irvine Police Department, aiming to swiftly track down and halt Lacramioara's streak of kiss-laden larceny, has offered an email address, [email protected], as a direct point of contact for tips.
