In a significant development reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, a 64-year-old man, Julius Fagge III, has been apprehended last Thursday for multiple charges stemming from alleged child sexual abuse dating back to the 1990s. This arrest comes on the heels of a prior detention where Fagge was caught in a sexual predator sting operation by the Nassau County Sheriff's Office in February, a collaborative effort named Operation Deviant Nightfall and Deviant Sunrise, which also involved JSO detectives.
The details emerging from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office paint a harrowing picture: multiple victims, all under the age of 12 during the time of the alleged abuses, and a decades-spanning investigation finally culminating in a warrant for Fagge's arrest and, according to a Faceobok post from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, they stated that "The details of the case are beyond disturbing." The post further explained that JSO detectives extended their investigation beyond Florida, traveling to Georgia and North Carolina to interview multiple victims and gather corroborating evidence and following this as JSO was following up on a warrant, they learned of Fagge's history.
With a focus on achieving justice for the victims, the JSO has underscored their intent to work closely with the State Attorney's Office, and they've thanked their collaborators at NCSO for their role in the ongoing case. Highlighting the absence of a statute of limitations for such crimes, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office encourages victims and survivors to come forward at any time, stressing the availability of support and aid for those affected.
In the wake of this arrest, Julius Fagge III has been booked into the Duval County Pre-Trial Detention Facility on multiple charges of Sexual Battery on a Child, and the JSO's commitment to getting justice for the victims, as quoted from their statement, is clear: "Your JSO will work closely with the State Attorney’s Office to get justice for the victims and families who must endure a lifetime of trauma from these acts." They also encourage those who have suffered from abuse, no matter how long ago, to report their cases and seek help, offering support via contact at 904.630.0500.
