
Earlier this week, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office conducted a significant drug bust in Northwest Jacksonville, shutting down what they referred to as a "drug house" on Prince Street, as confirmed by a recent Facebook post by the department officials.
The operation was a result of a community tip that prompted a thorough investigation and the execution of a search warrant, it led to the discovery of an assortment of illegal substances including 138.1g of crack cocaine, 61.9g of powder cocaine, 316.1g of MDMA, and 166.2g of diphenxprolinol; in addition, 79.7g of marijuana, firearms comprising a pistol and a rifle, and $350 in cash were seized, according to the Sheriff's Office post.
In connection with the bust, two men – Lavon Sirmons, 53, and Christopher Miller, 49 – were arrested and are presently held at Duval County Jail facing felony charges, with further details on the charges specified in the Sheriff's Office announcement.
The success of the sting operation was credited to a combined effort by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) Narcotics Team, SWAT Team, and Districts 5 & 6 Task Force Officers, indicating a reinforced commitment by the law enforcement agency to root out drug-related activities within the community and the Sheriff's Office post concluded with a stern warning to dealers that surveillance continues and enforcement will persist, while encouraging citizens to report suspected illegal drug activity.
