
A devastating incident in Knightdale brought violence to an otherwise quiet community after Steven Tant, 42, was charged with assault stemming from a stabbing that occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning. According to a Facebook post by the Wake County Sheriff's Office, Tant faces multiple charges, including two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury, and assault on a child under 12.
The situation unfolded when deputies arrived at the 1100 block of Rutledge Landing Drive after receiving reports of a stabbing; they discovered two women with stab wounds, one of which was considered life-threatening while the other was less severe, and a juvenile was also assaulted during the altercation, luckily the juvenile was not stabbed but was still taken to the hospital as a precaution. Tant, connected to the victims, was apprehended after returning to the crime scene and colliding his vehicle with a Knightdale Police car, he has since been processed into the Wake County Detention Center.
The Wake County Sheriff's Office has stated that Tant and the victims were acquainted, indicating a personal connection to the crime. They reassured the public that there is no broader threat to the community.
