The LA28 Olympic Organizing Committee has finalized its venue lineup for the 2028 Summer Games, highlighting a mix of iconic locations and strategic new sites across Southern California. The announcement, made Tuesday, reflects a commitment to sustainability, cultural representation, and economic opportunity.

Among the major updates: Dodger Stadium will host baseball, while Alamitos Beach in Long Beach will replace Santa Monica as the beach volleyball venue, as reported by KTLA. Surfing will take place at Trestles Beach in San Clemente, and Universal Studios will serve as the site for squash competitions, according to updates from NBC Los Angeles.

“We’ve promised the world an incredible Olympic Games and today we’re proud to share the plan that will make it happen,” said LA28 CEO Reynold Hoover to FOX LA, emphasizing the use of existing venues across diverse parts of the region, including the historic Rose Bowl Stadium, which will make its third Olympic appearance.

Long Beach will also host several water sports, including coastal rowing, which will debut in the Olympic program. In Orange County, the Honda Center in Anaheim is set to host volleyball events.

Vice Chair Katrina Foley noted the economic benefits for the region, highlighting opportunities for local businesses and tourism tied to the Games’ footprint across beaches, shopping centers, and cultural hubs.

The Games will mark the return of lacrosse and the debut of flag football, reinforcing LA28’s goal to blend tradition with innovation. The plan to rely on existing infrastructure is part of a broader effort to minimize environmental impact and avoid the construction costs often associated with hosting the Olympics. The 2028 Olympic Games will open on July 14 and run through July 30. The Paralympic Games will follow from August 15 to August 27.
