Las Vegas is putting the spotlight on a group dedicated to steering youth away from violence. Yesterday, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Anti-Violence Community Engagement Team, also known as the ACE Team, was honored during a City Council meeting at City Hall. According to a bulletin released by the Las Vegas City Government, the ACE Team's mission is to provide comprehensive support to families with at-risk children, aiming to divert them from the criminal justice system and guide them toward more promising paths.
With approximately 247 youth currently receiving assistance from the ACE program, the need for these services in Las Vegas is clear. The ACE Team endeavors to offer these young individuals resources that not only address their immediate needs but also pave the way for their future success. The Las Vegas City announcement praised the program's efforts and the personal commitment of the involved Metro police officers.
The recognition didn't stop with the ACE Team. Ward 4 Councilwoman Frances Allen-Palenske also took the opportunity to acknowledge their efforts in the community. This public appreciation serves as a testament to the dedicated work of individuals who strive to make Las Vegas a safer place for its younger residents.
Adding to the celebrations, the City Council also slated the recognition of the Employee of the Month for April 2025 during the same meeting. While the spotlight was shared, the achievements of city staff add to the daily efforts aimed at improving the lives of those living in Las Vegas, making the recognition well-deserved. For those interested in further details or wishing to comment on council agenda items, participation was encouraged in person during the public comment periods. Information and agendas were made available at the Las Vegas City official website.
