Early this morning, a residential duplex in Hollywood was the scene of a structure fire that has since been extinguished by the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). The incident took place at 6095 W Selma Avenue, as reported by the LAFD official alert. According to the alert, it took 40 firefighters less than half an hour to subdue the flames, which had engulfed the rear portion and common attic of the building.
The swift response from the LAFD began at 5:15 A.M., and firefighters were able to completely douse the fire by 5:38 A.M. Despite the early hour, the team demonstrated a professional efficiency in their effort to quickly and safely extinguish the fire. To aid those affected, the American Red Cross is set to assist in the temporary relocation of four residents who have been displaced due to the incident. As of now, the cause of the fire remains under investigation by authorities.
No injuries have been reported in the aftermath of this incident. The properties in these close-huddled neighborhoods often share communal infrastructure, making the risk of spread a concerning one for such fires. However, the containment strategies employed by the responding teams at Fire Station 82 and others were effectively executed to prevent further damage.
