
Yesterday afternoon, the Los Angeles Fire Department was called to a greater alarm structure fire at a commercial building in Boyle Heights. According to LAFD's initial alert, the blaze was reported at 3421 E Olympic Bl at 5:34 P.M. and involved a metal-clad commercial structure measuring 50 feet by 100 feet. Firefighters arrived to find fire showing from the building, prompting a defensive attack strategy as the flames threatened another commercial building nearby.
In a quick and decisive response, 98 firefighters from the LAFD managed to extinguish the heavy flames within approximately 29 minutes. The corrected address of the incident was 3424 E Olympic Bl, with the fire believed to have started in or near a parked box truck before spreading to the building. LAFD's knockdown alert stated that no injuries were reported, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
