Los Angeles is forecasted to enjoy a streak of mostly sunny skies and comfortable temperatures this week, according to the National Weather Service. Today's weather is expected to be mostly sunny, with highs reaching up to 81 degrees and a light westerly breeze picking up in the afternoon. As the sun sets, the city should see a mostly clear night with a low around 57 and winds tapering off.
Heading into Friday, Los Angelenos can anticipate similar conditions, with the mercury climbing a tad higher to an approximate 84 degrees. “Light and variable wind becoming south southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon,” the forecast notes. Friday night will bring increasing clouds as temperatures dip to the mid-50s. The pattern continues into the weekend; Saturday brings the possibility of patchy fog before 11:00 a.m. but will clear up to partly sunny skies and a high of 76. Light winds will prevail, becoming southwestward later in the day.
Clear conditions will dominate Saturday night with the low settling around 55 degrees. Sunday's forecast promises plenty of sunshine and a consistent high of 76 degrees, followed by a partly cloudy evening and an overnight temperature once again hovering near 55. The trend of patchy morning fog is expected to return on Monday, leading to partly sunny skies and a cooler high of 74 degrees by the afternoon; nighttime fog might also make a cameo after 11:00 p.m.
The pattern of early fog and partial sunshine is slated to persist well into next week. Tuesday will experience patchy fog but with partly sunny conditions, with a high near 71. Similar conditions are projected for Wednesday, which will likely see highs only reaching about 70 degrees, marking a subtle dip in temperature. Although nighttime temperatures throughout the week are expected to remain in the low-to-mid 50s, gentle shifts in the wind direction and speed are anticipated during the afternoons and evenings.
