Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis is highlighting major state investments in northeastern areas like Berwick and Lewisburg. Today, he’ll join local leaders and small business owners to show how state support is helping the region.
Fueling this revitalization is the Main Street Matters program, a lifeline tossed to 81 community projects across the Keystone State. Two of these projects are rooted in Union County, with three more blossoming in Columbia County. PACast reported that Governor Josh Shapiro recently shed light on these efforts, staying true to his word as he aids in downtown revamps and small business growth.
With Main Street Matters being guided by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), the call for applications was met with an enthusiasm ripe to show the drive for neighborhood refurbishment. Over 200 hopeful applicants reached out, hungry for a share of the more than $43 million sought to enhance their local infrastructures.
