Charges are stacking up for Adam James Bowen, the 40-year-old man involved in last week's mayhem across L.A. County that saw a tow truck stolen, a high-speed chase, and a multi-car crash in Long Beach. According to the KTLA report, the chase and subsequent accidents were broadcast live, eventually culminating in a dramatic collision.

Bowen is now facing 11 felony charges, including one count of attempted murder, after he allegedly tried to run over the tow truck operator with the operator's vehicle. To escape, Bowen purportedly went on to steal a white flatbed truck, leading police to eventually chase him through several neighborhoods. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office states that his actions resulted in significant injuries to the initial victim.

The prolonged pursuit began near the University of Southern California and ended after running a red light at the intersection of East 7th Street and Termino Avenue in Long Beach, where Bowen collided with two other vehicles. It was after this final crash that he was tackled by officers while trying to casually walk away from the scene, as seen in Sky5 footage shared by KTLA.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman described the incidents as "extremely reckless and brazen acts" and confirmed that they are pursuing justice for all victims involved. "The level of callous disregard for public safety is unacceptable, and we will vigorously pursue justice for all of the victims in this case," Hochman told KTLA. The final toll on Friday's chaos included serious injuries to an unnamed individual and property damage across the crash sites.

Bowen's charges, according to the District Attorney's office, include four counts of assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of hit-and-run resulting in serious injury, among others. And if convicted on all the charges, Bowen could face life in state prison. His arraignment was scheduled for today at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.
