A substantial amount of drugs and firearms were seized from a Highland Park residence following a Michigan State Police (MSP) operation last Thursday. The MSP's County of Macomb Enforcement Team (COMET) spearheaded the action, which resulted in the confiscation of approximately half a pound of fentanyl, a half ounce of cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, an assortment of firearms, and a hand pill press used in drug packaging, as reported by WWJ Newsradio.
During the search, detectives also uncovered two assault rifles and two pistols, one of which was confirmed to be stolen property, as well as approximately $10,000 in cash earmarked "with intent to forfeit," according to details provided by MSP Second District. The operation was not solely the endeavor of COMET, as backing came from MSP’s Second District Headquarters and Metro South Post, which shows the depth and cooperation among law enforcement units tasked to wrestle down drug proliferation.
