Over the weekend, the Milwaukee community watched as first responders from across the county laced up their skates for a good cause. The Milwaukee Admirals hosted a "Battle of the Badges" charity hockey event, featuring teams made up of law enforcement officers (LEOs) before their own game against the Chicago Wolves. The event was not just about hockey—it aimed to foster stronger bonds between Wisconsin's youth and first responders, a cause that seems to have scored within the community.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Facebook post highlighted the collaborative efforts of various local organizations, including the Cops and Kids Foundation, STRYV365 Inc., and Sobleman's, in making the event a success. The Sheriff's Office also offered special thanks to members K. Rodriguez, A. Yacks, T. Green, M. Krueger, and R. Moore for their contributions to what was described as a "special day."
This wasn’t just a day of competitive hockey. It was also about honoring those who serve, supporting youth-focused nonprofits, and creating space for connection—like sharing laughs and burgers. Every part of the event helped build trust and strengthen the bond between Milwaukee’s residents and first responders.
