Milwaukee has launched the Emerging Youth Achievement Advisory Council, replacing the Black Male Achievement Advisory Council. Led by Common Council President José G. Pérez, the council will focus on supporting all underrepresented youth, including girls and young women. Pérez stated, "The negative indicators that plague one group in Milwaukee ultimately plagues all underrepresented groups," according to the City of Milwaukee.

On Thursday, Pérez spoke at the inaugural meeting of the Council about using a data-driven approach to address youth challenges. He stated, "Through the Emerging Youth Achievement Advisory Council, we hope to utilize a data driven approach to address the real day-to-day problems that our youth encounter." The Advisory Council, made up of professionals in health, education, and workforce development, will provide recommendations to the city. Pérez added, "We’ll do this by listening at the Advisory Council level, and then forwarding thoughtful and comprehensive recommendations to the policy makers, my colleagues, at City Hall," as reported by the City of Milwaukee.

President Pérez introduced the new Advisory Council, which focuses on youth engagement and inclusion for underrepresented groups in Milwaukee. The council's first session took place at City Hall, emphasizing transparency and community involvement. Pérez stated, "We must focus on all of our youth, listen to them, and provide opportunities for them to thrive and be successful." The council aims to create a framework that supports the city's future by addressing the needs of its youth, as stated by the City of Milwaukee.
