Two members of the Mongols Motorcycle Club have been implicated in the murder and assault of a rival gang member in Ontario last month. Arrests and charges stem from a deadly encounter at a local bar. According to a press release issued by the U.S. Attorney's Office, 51-year-old Clifford Michael Lavoy, known as "Buckshot," and 35-year-old Julian Pulido, or "Juls," are facing federal charges concerning the brutal event.

Lavoy has been charged with federal complaints for assault resulting in serious bodily injury in aid of racketeering, while Pulido is up against a murder in aid of racketeering charge. The second individual, Pulido, led the police on a lengthy nine-hour cross-county chase culminating in a crash and his subsequent arrest. He was found with clothing featuring the Mongols' insignia, matching his attire from the night of the homicide. The victim, a Vagos motorcycle gang member, was attacked in the early hours of March 4, following an altercation where the assailants demanded respect for their Mongols affiliation. The encounter escalated, resulting in the victim being punched, choked, and ultimately shot several times by Pulido as he tried to flee, according to officials.

Facing life imprisonment if convicted, Pulido remained in state custody with a pending federal court appearance. Lavoy, after an initial court session in Riverside, has been remanded without bond.

Assistant United States Attorneys Declan T. Conroy and Daniel H. Weiner of the Transnational Organized Crime Section prosecute these cases.
