
Authorities in Monroe County are currently on the lookout for three suspects involved in a brazen jewelry store robbery over the weekend. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed to CBS News Detroit that the Kay Jewelers located at 2332 N. Telegraph Road, Frenchtown Township, was hit by the perpetrators at around 6:20 p.m. last Saturday. The suspects, three males believed to be in their late teens or early twenties, stormed into the store, breaking display cases and making off with an assortment of jewelry, the value of which remains undisclosed.
Escaping the scene in a white Jeep, the suspects managed to evade immediate capture. The vehicle in question was later discovered abandoned on Lasalle Road, by Deputy Brandon Parker, less than a mile from the scene of the crime, as reported by 13abc. Adding a layer to the narrative, officials have stated the Jeep had been previously reported stolen to the Detroit Police Department. Residents with any knowledge of the incident are encouraged to come forward and assist the sheriff's office in their ongoing investigation.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, engaging both the Uniformed Services Division and the Detective Bureau, is conducting the full scope of the investigation.
