Oakland County, Michigan's streets are a bit safer today as "Operation Egg Hunt," a joint task force between the Oakland County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals Service, apprehended nearly 40 suspects wanted for violent crimes during a three-day sweep. Over the course of April 22-24, 36 individuals with outstanding warrants were brought in, and three others surrendered, reducing the list of 100 offenders targeted for crimes ranging from sexual assault to gun violence, according to ClickOnDetroit.
Among those snatched up from the operation, was Timothy Williams, wanted for a parole violation related to a shooting, and Kindrico Martinez, sought for two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, The Detroit News reported. Additionally, Joevon Draper, who had fled to California with his daughter in violation of a custody agreement, was also arrested, rounding out the highlighted captures by Sheriff Bouchard.
With over half of the targeted suspects still at large, Bouchard encouraged these wanted individuals to turn themselves in, suggesting to The Detroit News it is "simpler and more helpful at your court appearance." The Sheriff's Office is meanwhile reaching out to the public for assistance in locating key fugitives like Joshua Michael Carloss and Marico Miller, both of whom have histories of violent crime and are considered high-priority targets by the authorities.
Authorities are seeking information on suspects who remain at large, and the community is encouraged to report any tips to the appropriate agencies.
