Orlando Police have apprehended a 26-year-old man, Tyler Feight, after a report of an attack on a female jogger in the College Park area. According to ClickOrlando, the incident occurred early Thursday around 4:30 a.m. near the 1800 block of Northumberland Avenue. Feight is charged with attempted sexual battery and battery.

The victim was able to fight off her assailant, resorting to kicking and screaming after she was attacked, which prompted Feight to flee the scene; she then safely returned home to place the 911 call. Later, he was found by a resident sleeping in a nearby grassy area. After a description of him was shared on social media by the victim, he was detained by officers. Previously, Feight had been released from jail for battery on a different female and had been sleeping outside in the woods for the past two months reported WESH.

Describing her violent encounter, the woman told police that a man "struck her in the upper body, causing her to fall to the ground," as the Orlando Police Department reported. WFTV stated that her determined resistance likely saved her from further harm. In her assertion of self and her right to move through the world unharmed, the victim's actions ultimately led to the suspect's apprehension.

Upon being detained, the victim positively identified Feight. With history repeating itself in a most unsettling way, Feight had been incarcerated for battery prior and now finds himself facing the judicial process again on tentative soil. "For the past two months, Feight has been sleeping outside in the woods near the area after being released from jail," Orlando Police declared, according to WESH.
