Philadelphia’s efforts to bolster housing became more transparent with the recent launch of a new online housing dashboard by Philly Stat 360. This initiative stems from the Mayor’s Office and aims to keep a diligent eye on the city's housing programs, including those for affordable housing and rental units. From the Basic Systems Repair Program (BSRP) to the Adaptive Modification Program (AMP), the platform provides a window into the resources available to citizens, particularly those in the lower- and middle-income brackets, as they attempt to maintain and preserve their homes.
The dashboard responds to Mayor Cherelle L. Parker's ambitious H.O.M.E. Plan, which proposes to construct, save, and refurbish some 30,000 housing units. According to a recent announcement by the Mayor’s Office, Philly Stat 360’s website aims to offer a government that residents can "see, touch, and feel," complete with visual aids to track the city's progress. The intention is to regularly update the dashboard to reflect ongoing advances made within the Parker Administration's H.O.M.E. plan.
Among the programs highlighted on the dashboard is the Turn the Key initiative. This program encourages the development of affordable luxury homes, an effort that signals the city's commitment to not only maintaining but also elevating the quality of affordable housing options. Another effort worthy of note is the Tangled Title program, which serves an essential role in resolving homeownership discrepancies – helping individuals secure official ownership of homes they may have maintained for years without being acknowledged on the deed.
