A Queens man has admitted to the despicable act of sex trafficking a minor, alongside weapons possession charges. Troy Siddons, 41, of Jamaica, has pleaded guilty to forcing a 14-year-old into sex work to pay off an alleged debt, as well as keeping illegal firearms. The grim details revealed how Siddons paid for sex with the teenager and later manipulated her into prostitution, as per the Queens District Attorney's Office.

According to a statement from Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, “Preying on the vulnerabilities of others – particularly children – is atrocious and will not be tolerated in Queens County. Sex trafficking is modern day slavery, and my office is dedicated to bringing abusers to justice and helping survivors recover from the incredible trauma that they have endured. This defendant exploited a teenager to line his own pockets and with this guilty plea, he will be incarcerated for his criminal actions.” Siddons, who abused the victim's vulnerabilities for his own financial gain, is expected to face a stern sentence, as detailed by the Queens D.A.'s Office.

The victim's ordeal began when she met Siddons at a party and exchanged phone numbers with him. She was later held against her will and forced to perform sexual acts for paying customers, with Siddons denying her any medical treatment despite her complaints of pain from the encounters. The teenager was eventually rescued by the NYPD from a Brooklyn residence where she had been kept by Siddons' associates.

During the course of the investigation, a court-authorized search of Siddons' home yielded two loaded firearms and a bullet-resistant vest. The chilling discovery, made on September 27, 2022, added a weapons charge to his litany of offenses. Justice Peter Vallone, who presided over the case, has indicated that Siddons will receive a seven to 14-year prison sentence on the sex trafficking charge, and an additional 3½ to seven years for the gun charge, to be served concurrently, according to the same press release.

Siddons also faces the future burden of registering as a sex offender once he's released. The final sentencing is slated for June 2, as per Justice Vallone's court. Assistant District Attorneys Kiran Cheema and Felicia Thomas of the District Attorney’s Human Trafficking Bureau were commended for their prosecution of the case, which was executed with assistance from Deputy Bureau Chief Tara DiGregorio and under the supervision of Assistant District Attorney Jessica Melton and Executive Assistant District Attorney for Investigations Gerard A. Brave.
