Raleigh's Community Engagement Board (CEB) is stepping up its game by partnering with Cortico, a tech company specializing in community dialogue – a move that promises to amplify the voices of Raleigh's diverse populace. According to a recent announcement on the City of Raleigh website, this partnership is key to the Board's aim to boost public participation and transparency in decision-making processes.
This collaboration isn't the only feather in the Board's cap; they've been busy with accomplishments including comprehensive board training, the launch of a new digital presence complete with a dedicated email and social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram at @RaleighCEB, and they've also introduced a Public Comment Tracker—an essential tool for keeping tabs on public feedback, and now there's also a slick new public comment video designed to school residents on making the most of public comments sessions. But wait, there's more – informational collateral for public distribution that's hot off the press, and newly minted policies for information access and social media use to keep engagement transparent and responsible.
Looking ahead, the CEB doesn't plan on hitting the brakes anytime soon. They aim to continue forging ahead with initiatives meant to encourage open dialogue and meaningful engagement among Raleigh residents. In addition to their work with Cortico, the Board has also teamed up with Transit Oriented Design and Affordable Housing (TODAH) on the Public Project Community Support Fund (PPCSF) to create a better framework for community input in public projects, opening more doors for residents to chime in on local affairs.
