Get ready to play, create, and learn because the Rootle Roadster Tour is making a stop in Raleigh's very own Moore Square. This family-friendly, free event scheduled for May 17, is designed to promote early childhood education with a broad array of activities for youngsters. According to the City of Raleigh's website, festivities kick off at 10 a.m. and wrap up by 2 p.m.
Parents and their kids can look forward to getting their hands dirty at interactive crafts and sensory play stations. The event also promises music and movement activities bound to get everyone up and grooving. Alongside these, a variety of literacy and learning games are set to spark children's imaginations. PBS North Carolina and Raleigh Parks, in conjunction with Marbles Kids Museum, are behind the initiative aimed at drawing the PBS Kids educational experience from the digital realm into the tactile world.
Among the highlights for the day are meet-and-greets with beloved Rootle characters—available while supplies last. With a special focus on children ages 2–8, this event seems to be carefully curated to merge the line between enjoyment and education, embodied in every interactive exhibit. To further enrich this experience, local community resources, partners, and educators from around Raleigh will be on-site, offering additional insight and support tailored to young families.
Moore Square will transform into a center for childhood creativity and discovery, echoing the Rootle Roadster's mission to seamlessly integrate learning into the fabric of everyday play. "Join us at Moore Square for a joyful celebration of learning, family, and fun—right in the heart of Downtown Raleigh!" as excitedly stated on the City of Raleigh announcement.
