Raleigh's future artists are stepping into the spotlight with their own take on the environmental issues facing our community. On Saturday, the Pullen Arts Center will host the Capture It! Stormwater Art Gallery, an event showcasing student artworks and videos that delve into the topics of water quality and the effects of pollution on local waterways. It's an occasion celebrating the intersection of creativity and conservation, brought to life by the talents of students in grades 8-12.
The exhibit is not just an art show; it's a platform for young voices to raise awareness about an issue critical to Raleigh's ecological health. According to a recent announcement on the City of Raleigh's website, "Students in grades 8-12 created compelling artwork and videos related to water quality and how pollution impacts our Raleigh lakes and streams." This highly anticipated event marks a significant opportunity for these young artists to engage the community in a dialogue about the state of our natural resources through their visual and narrative expressions.
The inclusive exhibit opens its doors at the Pullen Arts Center, located at 105 Pullen Rd. Raleigh, NC 27607. Visitors can explore the art gallery during its open house from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. This showcase is not just a fleeting moment; the students' works will be on display throughout the entirety of May, providing ample time for Raleigh residents to take in the powerful messages conveyed through the students' art.
