"Drier and warmer weather returns through the weekend," NWS Sacramento reports. The chances for Valley Highs surpassing the 75-degree mark trail between 50 to 90 percent for Saturday and Sunday. Despite the anticipation of a gentle breeze and sunshine, a notable shift is expected to arrive with the new week as a weak weather system moves in, bringing clouds and light rain, primarily to the northern reaches of the Sacramento Valley.
Residents in the mountains and adjacent foothills should also prepare for some precipitation, with predictions of a 30 to 60 percent chance of receiving more than 0.25 inches of rain Sunday night into Monday. However, the forecast doesn't call for any significant disturbances in the weather pattern, after Monday, conditions are expected to return to mild and dry for the middle part of the week.
The aviation sector is slated to experience mainly VFR conditions across interior Northern California for the next 24 hours. "Winds from the north less than 12 knots," communicates the NWS Sacramento. However, there's a slight chance of visibility-dropping mist in the central and southern Sacramento Valley until 18z today, albeit confidence is low on any significant reduced visibility developing. Scattered, light mountain showers will also be present through 02z Friday.
