Chris Paul, guard for the San Antonio Spurs, started all 82 games this season. At almost 40, he broke John Stockton's record for starts in a 19th season, doing so in his 20th season, according to KTSA.
Paul has continued to perform at a high level, raising questions about retirement. "It’s crazy," Paul told NBA, reflecting on his achievement. At his age, only two other players, John Stockton and Michael Jordan, have managed a full season, both doing so in their late 30s and early 40s.
Harrison Barnes, in his first year with the team, played his 304th consecutive game. Along with Julian Champagnie, they helped the Spurs become the first team since the 2017-18 Minnesota Timberwolves to have three players appear in all 82 games in a season. Mikal Bridges also continued his streak, playing every game since high school. In the Knicks' final game, Bridges played the opening seconds before sitting out, with coach Tom Thibodeau saying, "I think he’s earned that right," as reported by KTSA.
Paul, the 11th player in NBA history to play 20 seasons, is evaluating his future. "I know there’s stuff still in the tank," he said. He plans to assess his options during the off-season and decide whether to return for a 21 NBA season. His continued passion for basketball remains evident, as shared in an interview with NBA.
