The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department has cracked down hard on crime during a recent operation dubbed "Operation Consequences," which occurred from March 24 through last Sunday, according to the official statement. This targeted crime suppression effort led to several arrests and seizures in what appears to be a significant strategic move against local crime waves hitting Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, and Fontana.
During this intensive week of law enforcement activity, investigators and deputies searched multiple locations, detaining gang members and those barred from owning firearms. The operation saw a tally of 12 felony arrests and six misdemeanors. The teams managed to take four firearms out of circulation, while they also stopped some illegal narcotics operations by seizing drugs from the scene.
Details regarding the scope of the operation were outlined, with the Sheriff-Coroner Shannon D. Dicus saying, "Operation Consequences will take place over the next several months to curb violent crime, disrupt and dismantle targeted criminal street gangs, and locate and arrest criminals who are illegally possessing, manufacturing, and trafficking firearms." The strategic focus is the High Desert region and the sheriff's jurisdiction surrounding San Bernardino, which further aims to tackle the persistent quality-of-life issues that plague the county.
Residents within the affected locations have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
