Geovanny Molina Portillo, a 26-year-old Santa Paula resident, is facing serious charges after a violent incident involving a car crash and children, as confirmed by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

According to a report by KTLA, Molina Portillo allegedly intentionally rammed his vehicle into another car with two adults and two children inside on April 24th. Deputies said they responded to an assault with a deadly weapon report at around 9:48 p.m. in the 19000 block of Telegraph Road, east of Santa Paula, leading to an ensuing manhunt when the suspect fled the scene before law enforcement's arrival, but he was eventually located and arrested the following day.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office relayed that Molina Portillo was on probation for domestic violence at the time of his arrest and had an active warrant out of county. He was also restrained by a domestic violence restraining order and accused of robbing the protected party of her property.

Following the arrest by detectives from the Fillmore Bureau of Investigation and the West County Special Enforcement Unit, Molina Portillo is being charged with robbery, four counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and violating a domestic court order. He was taken to Ventura County's Pre-Trial Detention Facility and currently remains in custody on a $250,000 bail until his next court appearance scheduled for Tuesday.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office has extended gratitude to the public for their assistance in apprehending Molina Portillo, stating, "We are better at what we do because of our community partnerships," and encourages continued vigilance and reporting, offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to arrests and criminal complaints related to such crimes through Ventura County Crime Stoppers.
