A 21-year-old man was arrested on charges of attempting to murder his father with a machete in Riverside County, as reported by KTLA. Collin Adam Stewart, from Lake Hills, was apprehended by deputies early Thursday morning following the alleged attack at his father's home located on the 1600 block of Jordana Circle near Riverside.
According to the sheriff's department, the victim managed to call 911 around 2:30 a.m. to report the assault. Deputies were able to locate Stewart soon afterward at the crossing of La Sierra Avenue and McAllister Parkway, taking him into custody without further incident. Stewart's father received medical attention and was transported to the hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. After a search warrant was served at the victim's residence, investigators gathered evidence, including the purported weapon said to have been used in the attack.
