In a grim discovery last Thursday, the Prince George's County Police Department found the body of 44-year-old Sherron Turner inside the apartment she shared with her boyfriend in Suitland. Turner was found wrapped in plastic and partially covered in concrete, prompting homicide detectives to investigate the scene at the 2300 block of Ewing Avenue.
Following a welfare check, which originally brought the officers to the scene, an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner revealed that Turner died from blunt force trauma. Michael McClanahan, Turner's 38-year-old boyfriend, was swiftly connected to the murder. The police managed to swiftly arrest McClanahan the subsequent day on unrelated charges after an alleged stabbing incident at a Walmart in D.C., as reported by WJLA.
According to a statement detailed by DC News Now, McClanahan has been charged with first and second-degree murder, in addition to a charge linked to the attempted disposal of Turner's body. He remains in custody in D.C., where he awaits extradition to Prince George's County.
