
Two individuals alleged to have been involved in the attempted homicide of a Franklin County deputy are now in custody, following a tense manhunt that ended this weekend, officials have confirmed.
The broad daylight encounter, which has stunned a normally quiet community, escalated into a near-fatal episode for Corporal Benjamin Splees; although details around the confrontation remain under wraps, what's clear is that the suspects were apprehended in rapid succession and face serious criminal charges, as WRAL reports they were both taken into custody and now face multiple drug-related charges, this all according to Franklin County Sheriff Kevin White.
Thurman Henderson was the first to be located and detained by deputies, a capture that Sheriff White commemorated with a photo posted on social media, depicting the moment Henderson was led from the woods by law enforcement, this significant step in the investigation was documented by CBS17.
