A routine afternoon at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport was disrupted when a vehicle erupted in flames near the lower terminal roadway. The fire, close to Door 14 around 2:10 p.m. this afternoon, forced officials to limit access to the area, allowing only one lane for traffic to pass through, as per reports from DC News Now.
Despite the potential for chaos, the situation was handled promptly. Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire, and no injuries were reported, asserted BWI officials in an update. Following the incident, BWI's response included using fans to reverse ventilation and dispel the smoke infiltrating the terminal. This information was furnished by officials on the social media post from BWI Marshall Airport's official account.
