The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is hosting the annual youth turkey hunt on April 12-13. Hunters under the age of 16 can participate in turkey hunting before the regular season begins, as reported by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, youths who want to take part in the spring turkey hunt must have a spring turkey license, a wild turkey stamp, and a valid harvest authorization. They can use the harvest authorization at any time during the two-day event, but only in the turkey management zone listed on their authorization. If they don't use it during the youth hunt, they can still use it during the regular season in the same zone.

Hunters are allowed to harvest one male or bearded turkey. In the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources mentored hunt program, each young hunter must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 18 years old, and one adult can only supervise one active hunter at a time. First-time hunters can apply for a certificate by submitting their harvest details on the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ First Harvest Certificate webpage.
