A tragic incident in the South Park neighborhood has claimed the life of a 60-year-old pedestrian following a collision late last night. The Seattle Police Department reports that at approximately 11 PM, officers and Seattle Fire Department medics responded to the intersection of 14th Avenue South and South Henderson Street upon receiving a collision notification.

The pedestrian had been crossing 14th Avenue South when a vehicle, driven by a 23-year-old man, struck him. Emergency responders found the man with severe injuries, and despite the medics' lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained on-site and cooperated with the authorities. During the initial part of the investigation, police did not find signs of impairment.

Officers secured the area, and detectives from the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) were called to process the scene. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is still ongoing.
