The Boulder County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report of shots fired at an Ultralight aircraft in the airspace surrounding the airport located at 229 Airport Road. An individual had left a voicemail claiming the act, prompting an immediate response from local and federal agencies, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.
Despite the alarming claim, no victims or evidence of damage have been found as of yet. The Sheriff's Office has pinpointed a person of interest in the incident, though the name is withheld from the public while the investigation is underway. This development comes amidst heightened awareness and concern for aircraft safety, prompting collaboration across several departments, including the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), as reported by the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.
