Baltimore is set to host a celebration like no other as the Preakness Stakes reaches a historic milestone. Marking its 150th anniversary, the Preakness Stakes will showcase the prowess of thoroughbred racing and the vibrancy of entertainment with headliners T-Pain and Wyclef Jean, as announced earlier this week. Breaking away from the traditional infield festival, this year, the event will feature a trackside performance stage viewable from the grandstand and select VIP areas, FOX Baltimore has confirmed.

The shift in entertainment format is intended to blend racing, culture, and community into a fresh experience. According to WBALTV, Belinda Stronach, chairwoman and CEO of 1/ST, called the event a "celebration of racing, entertainment, culture and community, and is the kickoff to a bright new era for thoroughbred racing in Maryland." The redesigned stage, situated just north of the iconic cupola, ensures patrons have an enhanced auditory and visual experience.

Three-time Grammy Award-winning artist Wyclef Jean will lead the musical charge, performing live as part of the national NBC broadcast. Grammy Award magnet T-Pain, fresh from viral performances at Coachella and Stagecoach, will take the stage following the day's final race. WMAR2 News stated that the performances will take place on May 17, with tickets available starting at $96. They can be viewed venue-wide via live stream.
