The City of Boulder is wrapping up its summer seasonal hiring spree, filling essential roles for the Boulder Parks and Recreation (BPR) and signaling a near readiness for the onset of summer activities. Launched in March, the city aimed to fill more than 200 positions, crucial to operating youth camps, outdoor recreation, and park maintenance services.
A report published on BPR's website states that as of late April, 71 of these seasonal slots had been secured. Further to this, 120 additional hires are slated to begin by June 1, marking rapid progress toward full staffing. The response from locals has been significant, with the hiring campaign tapping into the Boulder community through targeted social media ads, reaching a tangible 140,000 people.
Despite the majority of positions being accounted for, BPR's commitment to keeping its operations at full throttle means continued recruitment. "BPR will continue to post job openings as vacancies arise throughout the summer," as per the City of Boulder. Recognizing the fluid nature of seasonal workloads, further job postings are anticipated for fall and winter to prep for the next seasonal shift, backfill gaps, and embody the promise of 'Play Here, Work Here and Grow Here' to its staff.
