Bucks County Sheriff Fred Harran is stepping into the podcasting realm with "Law & Order: BUX," a show aimed at giving the public a closer look at the inner workings of local law enforcement. According to Bucks County's official statement, this new audio venture is designed to increase transparency and foster a deeper understanding between the Sheriff's Office and the Bucks County residents.
In what Harran describes as an effort to shine a light on the often unseen aspects of law enforcement, the podcast intends to cover a variety of topics including the nuances of the Sheriff's Office operations, local government discussions, and the role of technology in policing. "For nearly 40 years, I’ve worked with the men and women of law enforcement agencies across the county and seen the vital work they do, often behind the scenes, to keep our communities safe," Harran explained. "Much of this crucial work, the challenges faced, and the complex decisions made daily go unnoticed by the public. With Law & Order: BUX, I want to open the door and offer listeners a real, unfiltered look at what it takes to uphold law and order in our neighborhoods," as the county's official website notes.
Set to release its first full installment during National Police Week, the show promises to provide insights into the day-to-day challenges that officers face. It will feature dialogues with a mix of deputies, investigators, and experts within the justice system, aiming to educate the audience on the strategies and human elements that play a role in maintaining public safety in a changing landscape.
The Bucks County Sheriff's Office prides itself on being proactive when it comes engaging with the community, and "Law & Order: BUX" is just the latest effort in that initiative. Harran's office, which is responsible for services like court security, executing warrants, and issuing gun permits, serves a population of over 630,000 with a team consisting 95 professionals, including 76 sworn deputies. The BCSO is known for its 24/7 operations and collaborations with the 39 local police departments and state/federal agencies throughout Bucks County.
