Last Friday, Deputy Burgos from the Chester County Sheriff's Office made a connection with local students during the Chester County District Attorney's Youth & Law Enforcement Symposium. According to a post on the Chester County Sheriff's Office social media page, the event served as a platform to foster discussions aimed squarely at building trust between young individuals and law enforcement officers.
The post by the Chester County Sheriff's Office highlighted that Deputy Burgos had "some great conversations with students," which is a move in a positive direction considering the often strained relationship between communities and the police. Looking to actively engage with the next generation, the deputy used this opportunity to openly discuss the importance of mutual respect and understanding. While the symposium itself may not solve underlying issues, efforts like these are stepping stones towards a more cohesive community. Several students even stayed behind to snap a photo with the deputy, seemingly to symbolize this burgeoning relationship.
