As the temperatures rise and school years wind down, Dearborn residents can look forward to the reopening of the city's popular outdoor aquatic spots. Beginning tomorrow, Dearborn's Dunworth and Ford Woods outdoor pools will open their gates for the summer season, the City of Dearborn announced. Visitors can dive into the cool waters on weekdays from 4-7 p.m. On weekends and holidays, the fun extends from 12-6 p.m., ensuring ample time for everyone to enjoy a splash.

While the neighborhood pools at Lapeer, Summer Stephens, and Ten Eyck remain under construction, and no current reopening date has been disclosed, families can still find respite from the heat at the city's splash pads situated in Crowley, Hemlock, and Whitmore-Bolles parks. Depending on Michigan's weather, these splash pads are available through Labor Day. Those looking for year-round swimming options aren't left high and dry. Dearborn's indoor pools will maintain their normal operation schedules and are open to swimmers of all ages.

Cost shouldn't be an obstacle to beating the heat, with the city waiving admission fees for residents aged 13 and below, while others can pay per visit or purchase a seasonal pool tag. These tags are on sale at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center's Service Desk on weekdays, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., as well as the Dunworth pool during their operational hours, and they're a must-have for access to the city's outdoor pools. Residents' rates range from $60 for young swimmers and seniors to $160 for a family pass. At the same time, non-resident tags are set at $190 for individuals and $355 for families, according to details provided by the city.

For more information about pool hours, tag prices, or other aquatic activities, swimmers are encouraged to dive into the city's website at Dearborn.gov/Pools or call 313-943-2350 with their inquiries, as the summer season in Dearborn promises wet and wild fun for all ages within its community pools and splash zones.
