Denver's local nonprofits, faith-based, and community organizations have a unique opportunity to enhance their energy efficiency and sustainability practices with the 2025 $ave Green Be Green Conference ($GBG), slated to take place on June 5th, at the First Universalist Church of Denver from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The all-day, no-cost event is being organized by Denver Human Rights & Community Partnerships (HRCP) and will offer attendees the chance to learn about the latest strategies in climate resilience, engage with funding opportunities and technical resources, and network, with leaders and experts across various sectors, during the conference, interactive workshops will be held and an exhibit hall will be available for sharing resources and information, keeping in line with the city’s drive to promote a climate-resilient future, according to City and County of Denver.
As obtained by the City and County of Denver, Perla Gheiler, Executive Director of HRCP, emphasized the conference’s value, saying, "The $ave Green Be Green Conference is one of the many ways our city is preparing for a climate-resilient future," highlighting that the event is not just about climate readiness but also serves as a form of gratitude by helping equip local organizations, which are so foundational to Denver’s vibrancy with resources and even direct funding to further their efforts.
Participants of the $GBG event can look forward to a complimentary breakfast, lunch, and a closing reception, in addition to the potential of competing in the $GBG Pitch Competition where Denver nonprofits can vie for one of four grant awards, amounting to a sum of up to $10,000 for the most innovative project ideas in energy efficiency, this reflection of the city's commitment to its climate goals through tangible measures, a notion emphasized in the successful green transformation the Denver Art Museum experienced after receiving last year's $GBG grant, which enabled it to substantially lower its energy costs and improve overall operations.
