A high-speed police chase in Detroit's west side concluded with a crash into a school bus at the Fullerton Avenue and Meyers Road intersection last Friday afternoon. According to CBS News Detroit, the pursuit began when Detroit police, investigating Mettetal Street and Fullerton Avenue, noticed suspects exiting a house and entering a vehicle, which soon after collided with a police car.

The individuals, sought by the police, then fled the scene, prompting officers to initiate a pursuit. As relayed by FOX 2 Detroit, the chase continued until a suspects' vehicle struck a school bus, which contained three teenagers, before hitting another vehicle and coming to a complete stop.

Following the collision, the suspects attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended after a brief chase by the authorities. Detroit Police Captain Shannon Hampton told ClickOnDetroit, "We were just looking to get some bad people off the street." The chase reached its harrowing conclusion with no reported injuries among the passengers of the bus, while the two suspects sustained minor injuries.

Upon searching the suspects' vehicle, authorities found a handgun, cash, and narcotics. The items recovered hint at the larger undercurrents of crime that the city's police are routinely grappling with. The incident was separate from Thursday's incident involving Detroit rapper Skilla Baby, who was shot but expected to recover fully. "This is not connected. This is a completely separate incident. No connection whatsoever," stated Captain Hampton to delineate the events, per ClickOnDetroit.
